GALAPAGOS GUIDE

Our Galapagos Guide provides essential information about the destination, the main visitor sites, and their highlights — important details to know before visiting the area.

How to get there

Located nearly 600 miles off the coast, the Galapagos Islands are remote yet easily accessible by air through commercial or private flights.

About Galapagos

It is no coincidence that the islands are considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience: the Galapagos offers unforgettable encounters with real wildlife. No matter which island you visit, there will always be untamed wildlife to remind us we are not alone in this world.

When is the Best Time to Visit

No matter when you choose to visit the Galapagos Islands, this remarkable destination will delight you with its diversity of flora and fauna.

Weather

Although located on the equator, the archipelago’s climate is defined by two distinct seasons: the dry season, influenced by the colder Humboldt Current from June to November (around 22 °C / 72 °F), and the warm season from December to May, when temperatures average around 25 °C (77 °F).

What to Pack

Most excursions on the Galapagos involve rocky terrain; therefore, it is important to have adequate gear.

Galapagos Animals

There is likely no other place in the world where you can closely observe wildlife like on the Galapagos Islands. UNESCO declared them a Natural World Heritage Site in 1978 due to the unique opportunity to admire and interact with remarkable species in a peaceful environment.
