BALTRA ISLAND

Baltra is known as South Seymour. It is a small flat island where the main airport of the archipelago of Galapagos, Seymour Airport, operates. This airport was built during the Second World War by the United States Navy to patrol the Panama Canal.

Baltra is a place with a very dry vegetation, palo santo trees and cactus. It is frequented by sea lions, land iguanas and a great variety of bird species..
